REGUPOL SONUS CORE 5, formerly known as REGUPOL 9510, is a cost-effective rubber bound underscreed material designed for the PCT (Pre-Completion Test) market to isolate all screed types. It complies with Approved Document E (England & Wales), Technical Booklet G (Northern Ireland), and Section 5 of the Building Regulations (Scotland). This product offers excellent impact and airborne performance, ensuring long-term performance without collapsing or "bottoming" out under high point loads. It also has minimal creep, even under high loads, and is resistant to ageing and deformation. Installation is quick and easy with no need for separate perimeter strips, and it minimises construction heights. REGUPOL SONUS CORE 5 is also suitable for use with underfloor heating, protects expansion joints, and is mildew and moisture resistant. When used with a sand/cement screed, there is no requirement to use a DPM. The product is manufactured using recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. The manufacturing facility is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards.

Application & Installation

To install the REGUPOL sonus core 5 Acoustic Resilient Layer (formerly known as Regupol 7210C), the process is made quick and easy.
Prior to laying the underlay, it is essential to prepare the base floor by ensuring it is clean and free of loose dirt and concrete dust. Additionally, it should be flat, within the parameters set by National Building Standards, with a tolerance of +5mm over a 5m span. Ideally, the base floor should also be dry.
To lay the Regupol 7210C (REGUPOL sonus core 5) Acoustic Resilient Layer:
- Use a sharp craft knife and straight edge to cut the sheet to size.
- Overlap the joints by at least 50mm and tape them down using Regupol Hi-tack tape.
- Turn up the layer at all perimeter edges, making sure it sits above the finished screed height with a minimum excess of 75mm to lap under all wall linings and skirting boards.
- Lay a waterproof membrane (e.g. Visqueen) with a minimum thickness of 0.2mm over the entire area, overlapping it by at least 100mm and covering the upturned edges of the Regupol. Tape all joints to prevent movement during the casting process.
